Conseils aux nouveaux propriétaires du vélo pliant Bastille

ADVICE FOR NEW OWNERS.

We are delighted to welcome you as one of our users.

We have put all our expertise and energy into incorporating the features that make a bike exceptional, so that it accompanies you for as long as possible.

We've also decided to rely on a network of partner shops throughout France to support you throughout the life of your bike.

Here are our advice to start with your Bastille:

1. Master the art of folding.

Before handling the Bastille, we advise you to refer to the tools to help you through the different stages of folding: the owner's manual and the video tutorials. Always remember to place your hands where indicated to avoid pinching them. The handle on the frame has been designed to make folding and unfolding easier and to allow you to carry your folded bike with ease.

2. Roll your bike in T position.

In T position, you can roll your bike behind you like a suitcase. In this position, you can go forwards but not backwards, as the crankset is locked to make folding easier. If you want to go backwards in T position, you can also push the bike in front of you on the front wheel (the wheel closest to you). This way of moving around is particularly useful for taking the escalator or handling your bike in a confined space such as a lift.

When pulling the bike behind you, we advise you to walk at a reasonable pace and on a level surface, to avoid losing your balance.

3. Travelling with the Bastille.

The O position is the Bastille's most compact position. This position is ideal for the train, the boot of a car or for storing at home. On the train, we recommend that you use the carry bag supplied with the Bastille. Folded in an O shape, the Bastille can be stored in the luggage compartment of the train.

4. Running in the brakes.

The Bastille is fitted with hydraulic disc brakes. To ensure effective braking, we recommend that you break in your brakes the first time you use your Bastille. The running-in procedure consists of braking progressively several times, at increasing speeds, alternating front and rear brakes.

The running-in procedure can take up to 30 minutes. Do not brake hard during this time and use one brake at a time to avoid overheating your pads.

5. Shifting gears with an integrated gear hub.

Thanks to the integrated gear hub, you can change gear even when you're stationary. This allows you, for example, to downshift when you are stopped at a traffic light. To make shifting gears easier when riding, we recommend that you stop pedalling slightly when you change gear.

6. Have your bike serviced.

To ensure the performance and longevity of your bike, we recommend that you have it serviced by our authorised dealers at least twice a year.

We wish you a pleasant journey with us.

Enjoy the ride.
